A smart street-lighting technology to enhance pedestrian and vehicle safety

A lighting control system comprised of a central management system and a lighting control node designed to mount on the LED luminaire affixed to the top of the light pole with the PoleVolt™ charging station that performs such functions as turning the luminaire on or off; dimming the light output of the luminaire according to a schedule as well as reporting operational data about the light fixture for maintenance or troubleshooting. In the PoleVolt™ installation, the Duke Energy team will experiment with varying the light output of the luminaire based on activity near the charging station to provide enhanced security at night.
